Wilkie Martin is a writer who is currently looking for an agent and publisher. His first novel "The Darkes' Secret" is a mystery about a young man who becomes lost while fleeing from terror. He makes friends with a group of travelers who help him rediscover his home and to understand how it became so strange and isolated. A reviewer has suggested that this story would make an excellent screenplay.

His 2nd novel, the first in a series about 'Inspector Hobbes', is described through the eyes of Andy Caplet, a failed journalist. As he gets to know him, Andy gradually comes to realize and to accept that Hobbes is not actually human. Together, and with the aid of Hobbes's elderly housekeeper, they strive to fight crime and keep the peace between the odd mix of peoples in the quiet town of Sorenchester. These are hilarious and gripping tales of fantastic realism.
