Sunnymead private residential home is located on the Portadown road near to Armagh City centre. Sunnymead has been developed as a care home from what was, a Victorian private family residence. The premise has many attractive original architectural features, which contribute to the feeling of being in a high quality homely environment.

Sunnymead Residential Home has a range of spacious communal rooms and attractive bedrooms. The mature gardens and grounds offer the opportunity for residents to enjoy the outdoors and wild life, and yet is in close proximity to Armagh City centre.

The staff at Sunnymead Residential Home aim to provide high quality care services in a homely, relaxed environment. We aim to foster and develop resident’s feelings of independence, self worth, and personal fulfilment in a safe and secure environment.

As a small “community”, we actively encourage residents and their families to become partners in care and to offer their help, experience, skills and opinions to assist us to constantly improve the service we provide.

Residents are encouraged to choose how they spend their day within the home in a positive manner. Residents are encouraged to contribute to small daily duties within the home as they wish and to attend residents meetings in order to offer their opinions and ideas.

Residents and families are encouraged to get involved in events within the home and to offer their skills and talents at planned activities.
We encourage residents to individualize their rooms by, at the homes discretion, bringing small pieces of furniture, pictures etc into the home.
Residents are encouraged to maintain social contacts by getting out and about as much as possible with appropriate levels of supervision from family, friends and staff.

Sunnymead Residential Home provides services for older people in regard to trial short breaks, respite, planned regular respite services throughout the year, short term recovery stays following hospitalisation, temporary placements and permanent placements
